RECIT’ACT – an intercultural exchange on youth engagement and the ability to act
As part of its Erasmus+ KA1 Youth Exchange accreditation, E&D helped coordinate an intercultural exchange in Braga, Portugal.
In partnership with the Tunisian Forum For Youth Empowerment, the Braga branch of the Portuguese Red Cross, and Bitisi (a Georgian association), this intercultural exchange focused on the theme of youth engagement and their capacity for action.
This event brought together young people from Tunisia, France, Portugal, and Georgia at the Youth Center in Braga from July 10 to 16, 2025. Throughout the week, the organizers set up participatory workshops inspired by the methods and techniques of Global Citizenship Education and International Solidarity. In addition to these activities, two visits were organized by the Portuguese Red Cross. The young people had the opportunity to see the activities carried out by the Braga branch, including a solidarity shop and a children’s center.
While the aim was to encourage young people to question their worldviews by offering an opportunity for intercultural exchange, this meeting also sought to co-create tools by young people for young people. The participants wrote a song on the theme of mental health, drew a poster and designed a poster to raise awareness among young people about mental health, created two GCE animations, and wrote and filmed a video on one of the European Union’s objectives.
The RECIT’ACT project has enabled young people to develop new skills, break down their prejudices, forge links between young people from different backgrounds, and build tools that can be used by young people to raise awareness among their peers.
TOOLKIT : Question for a world citizen
In a fun game inspired by “question pour un chammpion” or “burger quizz”, participants will have to compete over
several rounds in teams, and answer questions based on the different countries represented as quickly as possible in
order to score the most points for their group. The winning team will be the one with the most points.

Parole – Lyrics
Woke up heavy, heart feels slow
Fake a smile but it won't show
I've been running through the night
Trying to find my inner light
Down... down
Chorus
Down, down, down
We've been down before
Down, down, down,
We found our way back home
Verse
I woke up tired, all the same again
Yet another checklist, another day
Floating through life, trynna to find my way
But I could never see the point of living just astray
They say, it's all in your head
They say, you're lazy, stay in bed
It's easy to be happy, you're just weak
Just fake a smile, you don't need to speak
Down, down, down
We've been down before
Down, down, down,
We found our way back home
Verse
One day it hit me, this isn’t me
I’m more than all this apathy
Beneath the fog, a voice came through
Not loud or strong, but something true
I still feel low, I still feel small
But I stood up, I faced the wall
And whispered back, “you don’t control
The way I break, or how I’m whole”
Down, down, down
We've been down before
Down, down, down,
We found our way back home
Verse
I've fallen low before
But I know what it takes
Yeah I'm standing tall in tears
I've learned how to be brave
I hold my mind up high,
even when it shakes
I've fallen low before,
but I know what it takes
Down, down, down
We've been down before
Down, down, down,
We found our way back home
Down, down, down
We've been down before
Down, down, down,
We found our way back home
